On a clear day, you can see as far as the Swiss and Austrian Alps and, in ideal conditions, even as far as the French Alps, Mont Blanc and the Italian border.Kappel, with its village character, has just under 1,000 inhabitants and is part of the municipality of Lenzkirch, which also includes the neighbouring villages of Grünwald, Saig and Raitenbuch. Lenzkirch is surrounded by the municipalities of Titisee-Neustadt, Friedenweiler, Löffingen, Bonndorf, Schluchsee, Feldberg and Hinterzarten. You will discover old, imposing Black Forest farms here in Kappel, a typical scattered settlement with lots of greenery between the houses. Hikers enter the Haslach and Wutach gorges here and discover the Schluchtensteig trail. During the Lenzkirch Hiking Weeks in early summer and autumn, the most beautiful destinations in the Black Forest are explored on daily tours. There is always something going on here: Hocks and Feschtle with music, singing and dancing are sociable highlights. At the beginning of the year, there are many carnival events in the Hochfirsthalle in the village.
