However, this island is also characterised by large bays and the special coastline, and in Mellnitz you can experience the island of Rügen in its unspoilt and natural form, far away from the bed castles and typical seaside resorts. In the middle of the European bird sanctuary, you have the opportunity to observe rare and protected bird species (cormorants, cranes, grey herons, greylag geese, sea eagles and many more) as they rest and breed. The surrounding area offers you peace and quiet, allowing you to enjoy a relaxing holiday. The Üselitzer Wiek is only 250 metres away, and sailing, fishing, golfing, cycling and the sea - Rügen is a leisure paradise! Just a few minutes' drive from the Edith holiday home is Palmers Ort, for example, a wonderful - even in midsummer - relatively unspoilt long sandy beach. If you like more hustle and bustle, Binz and/or Göhren are the places to be, and Rügen has wonderful cycle paths and it's great fun to explore the island and its natural surroundings by bike.Edith has a very large terrace, which also extends on both sides. In addition to a seating area with a large table and a large traffic light parasol, an XXL beach chair invites you to linger. On the terrace you will also find the gas barbecue for your barbecue pleasure, and in the outdoor area there is also a larger garden house with a covered outdoor seating area, a sauna and a storage room where you can find the two sun loungers, for example.PS: Although my builders were in a hurry to finish, not all the neighbours managed to do so. Two bedrooms are furnished with a double bed (180x200 cm), large wardrobe, chest of drawers, TV set and small radio/USB and Bluetooth player. The third bedroom has 2 single beds (90 x 200 cm) and the bathroom on the upper floor has a double washbasin, a bathtub and a walk-in showerSailing, fishing, golfing, cycling and the sea - Rügen is a leisure paradise! There are boats for hire near Mellnitz at the Gleiwitz-Stahlbode ferry. The golf course at Kranitz Castle is only a few minutes' drive from Mellnitz. Of course, anglers will also find a paradise on Rügen. There are boat tours in numerous coastal towns that lead to the best fishing spots, and a variety of leisure activities are within easy reach of Reethaus Edith: The Selin diving gondola, the "Rasender Roland" spa railway, the Selin fun pool and the Hansedom adventure pool in Strahlsund, the Prora and Altefähr climbing parks, the Jasmund Nature Heritage Centre, the Oceanographic Museum and the Stralsund Oceanarium, and the White City of Puttbus with its architectural gems are particularly worth a visit.Two bicycles - men's and women's 28" with derailleur gears - are available for free use without being part of the rental contract.
