On the second Sunday in September, the Palio della Balestra takes place: a competition between archers from Gubbio and Sanseprlcro who wear costumes inspired by the paintings of Piero della Francesca. Romanesque cathedral dating back to the 11th century was remodelled several times. It houses great works: Madonna and Child with Saints, Crucifixion and on the altar, the 14th-century polyptych of the Resurrection. Church of St Francis with a Gothic portal (late 13th century). Inside we find a valuable high altar and the Dispute in the Temple of Passignano. The civic museum houses a rich picture gallery where one can admire the Madonna of Mercy and Resurrection by Piero della Francesca; San Giuliano fresco, two-sided professional banner by Luca Signorelli, Della Robbia terracotta with the Nativity.
